Texture Mapping

Ddcc inquired as to my strategy in mapping out a texture. Here's an example using the nurses dress, a texture without a UV map that lays out the nature of the texture. *Included is a shot in the model editor and a small version of the texture itself. You might notice the ruffles from somewhere Ddcc! ;) I couldn't figure out exactly the limits of the pocket as well as how the sleeves and neck line worked exactly, so this is what I do to figure things out... #1. Type a line of coloured numbers in the spots I don't understand. #2. Load the file in the game, take a look at where the numbers go, are they reversed, are there any places where they appear multiple times, where they start and end, and so on. #3. I can then get an understanding of where, almost exactly, a texture starts and ends and can apply it to my work. #4. Rinse and repeat as needed...
